CHESS
My intrest in chess started at the age 10 when a neighbour offered to learn me play. We played each Sunday a whole summer and the first game I won was number 49 or so! After two years I started in a club, and thereafter I played actively for about 12 years. Then I did correspondance chess for a couple of years, but do not play anymore now. Here are a couple of my games. Some variations of normal chess that I like are...
"Chock"
A four player version using two boards:
TEAM A

![]()

TEAM B
The players in each team are sitting next to each other. When the white player in a team captures a black piece he gives it to his team mate (playing black). The second play may now place this black piece anywhere on the board he is using as reinforcement. When he captures a white piece he gives it to his team mate. Thus all players receive the pieces captured by their team mate. When a player is mated that side loses immediately. It is allowed to put reinforcing figures so that the opponent is mated. Play is with chess clocks set on five minutes per player. This is a fantastic version of chess! You'll see all types of weird play come up. Play fun improves with lateness of hour.
Four Player Chess
This is a chess board that I have tried a few times:

The white players are playing together against the black players. One white player starts and then play continues clockwise around the board. The game ends when both players of one side have been mated. When one player have been mated he is not allowed to move his pieces until the mate is is no longer active. Meaning that one player can try to liberate his mated collegue. Pawns may never move two steps (and E.P. is not possible), otherwise play is as usual. One should use two different sets of figures (like one of plastic and one of wood) to be able to see what pieces that belong to each player. You can also play this with two or three players.
Ball / Tube
This I have only seen in a book:

The chess board is mapped on to a ball or a tube and play is as usual except that there are no borders on the sides. If any one have tried this I'd like to know how it is. Note this version offers infinite moves with Rooks / Queens moving sidewise forever!
This was playing in Class 3 of the Öppna SM in Borås. I'll leave the name of my opponent blank as this must have been quite embarassing for him! I am black.
